Digitized from a shellac record, at 78 revolutions per minute. Four stylii were used to transfer this record. They are 3.8 mil truncated conical, 2.3 mil truncated conical, 2.8 mil truncated conical, 3.3 mil truncated conical. These were recorded flat and then also equalized with Turnover: 300Hz, Rolloff: 2120Hz.

The preferred version suggested by an audio engineer at George Blood, L.P. is the equalized version recorded with the 3.3 mil truncated conical stylus, and has been copied to have the more friendly filename.

Subject: Prayin Clarinet

A re-issue of an earlier recording done in 1929 on OKeh of Jimmy Dorsey accompanied by the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra, on a tune called "Prayin' the Blues". The Dorsey Brothers refers to a group founded by Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey. For this recording, members were Henry P. "Hank" Stern (Bass), Jimmy Dorsey (Clarinet and Alto sax), Stan King (Drums), Eddie Lang (Guitar), Arthur Schutt (Piano), Alfie Evans (Alto sax), Paul Mason (Tenor sax), Tommy Dorsey (Trombone), Leo McConville (Trumpet), and Mannie Klein (Trumpet).
