FMPSG Originals There's really too much to say because this is a 3 disc collection of many of the original tracks in the FMPSG series. It gives which volume each one is from and I've uploaded ALL of these volumes to Archive, so you can go check the tracks out in their native context...or something. The original tracks are really the highlight of the entire series, imho. They're the distillations of the various musicians' influences. And those influential tracks are also represented throughout...

FMPSG022 -titan- Starts off with 3 tracks weighing in at over 20 minutes-- titanic!  Thankfully, this one stays more than afloat. They should have built the actual Titanic ship with copies of volumes from the FMPSG series because this shit never sinks.   Track 3, an original, deserves special highlight in that bunch. If a 7 minute long Ys track has you on edge, you put on track 3, put the top down on your convertible and cruise. Maybe in Vice City with a custom soundtrack, that's how I have...

FMPSG020 -reboot- I guess the past few I've guessed at (or immediately realized) what the title of the volume means in relation to the music, but I'm stumped here, as it's business as usual, no rebooting in sight.  It is highly possible, in our current context, that I overthink that particular word compared to the people naming the volume many years ago.  I hear "reboot" and my brain immediately goes "why are you rebooting bro?" because lots of things have been needlessly...

FMPSG020 -DECADE- Marking a whole damn decade of releases with a 20th and EXTREMELY HOT MOLTEN ON FIRE set of tunes, reminding me why I have been trawling through these FMPSG releases for over 5 years myself.  Where "highlighting" individual tracks fails, this uploader will just free write. Here's why I love these FMPSG discs so much. I've been listening to select tracks from DECADE for a long time and, as a result, unintentionally not listening to others.   Honestly, "To Far...

FMPSG019 -JUKE BOX- The theme of this CD is, uh, music.  First we have to talk about Sword Art Online, but I don't mean the show thank god, I mean tracks #3 and #15.  I am glad I never watched the show, so I have no image of what the opening looks like this playing in my head, because these tracks are firey hot anime goodness! A rule of thumb across the FMPSG series is the anime opening remixes are basically all good to incredible.  Darius/Space Harrier/Outrun tracks too, but I don't even...

FMPSG 018 -Metamorphose- I'm not sure why it's called that. The last one was dancing queen and it was about dancing.  This one is called Metamophose, it's also about dancing. Most of these volumes are all danceable I think.  This one is way more "after hours" for those who are not ready to turn down at 4AM.  Psyence Beat  (Original) - and doesn't this one give a good, deep 4AM kinda track feel? monolithic (TV size) (magnetic puffer) - then this comes on and you have no idea what...

FMPSG Vol.17  Dancing queen, she so sweet, tha dancing queen~ that's not how it goes at all ANYWAY - guess what?  This one's pretty hot, though no ABBA covers in sight. I can do you one better, how about a BeeGee's song? Or like Vanilla Ice-level microdifferences from Stayin' Alive?  That would be track #13 from Dangun Feveron.  It's prob in my top 10 across everything, all 26 volumes of this series.  It's just too hot.  So it gets a paragraph! And a paragraph after to highlight it after...

FMPSG Vol.16 - NOT just another good one - but the one with my favorite track in this entire set.  First, I'm taking a question from the audience--   "Why is it called 16-But instead of 16-Bit?" Unless you composed track #12 - the extra mega drive BGM from Gain Ground, I can't answer your question (tho in reality, yeah i dunno the name is weird kinda)

Volume 15 - another good one TRANSLATOR'S NOTE: ichigo means "volume 15" Another monster weighing in at 27 tracks of pure madness from One Note Samba (by the brilliant Antonio Carlos Jobim, whose music you should listen to) to RAILGUN to popn' music to Final Fantasy to Original.   I'd like to highlight the really awesome Tooth and Nail (Dokken) cover.  So many chiptune covers do terrible things to their source -- usually via stepping on/obliterating some of the rhythm dynamics or...

FMPSG 13 - it's another good one (they are all good!)  The cover is blue and blue is a big theme here. It opens with the Nausicaa theme and what is Nausicaa if not the girl in her iconic blue dress!  The song for the game Galforce (I can't find anything about this one on the internet actually) sounds pretty damn blue skies to me. Super Hang-on follows it up and damn, blue skies from the source. An original track called "It's Fine!" follows it up and it has an absolutely infectious...

If you know what X Multiply is, then you've already figured out what this is, so go play it. A maniax port of Vigilante, the Irem arcade game.  "Maniax" isn't anything specific - I'm calling it that because it's hard as hell, remixed, has new weapons, new animations, new moves, new modes, and the difficulty goes up to at least Master 2.  Normally, "maniax" just means "guy who has spent whole life only on game." Don't worry though, it doesn't make an unrecognizable mess of the game.  It just makes for a really crazy hard single plane beat em up. I'd even...

FMPSG vol.09 ~Remember the chiptune~ - part of a series of mostly remixes mixed some original on the FM and/or PSG chip.  I guess what originally grabbed me about the series is that it stays pretty true to the source by staying more or less around the same era of hardware. Sometimes you throw on an Arranged ost and it's like cheesy instrumentation that you have to shut off immediately. Not here! It looks like I'm again ~forgetting the chiptune~ Tracks: -The Valis Theme - can't go wrong here....

FMPSG vol.7 - your face is in the ~limelight~~~~ unfortunately, the One Good Thing in Perfect Dark Zero is not on this disc. I'm referring to the club song in that godawful mission that probably made 85% of players quit that junk game on minute 1 of 360 ownership. COD2 or Condemned more than picked up that slack, thankfully. Why am I taking about 360 launch? Go look up the limelight song, it's good! Once again, I don't need to say much--the remixers are almost all wonderful and the track...

A doujin game based on Fate Stay Night and there's a / in there somewhere. im not checking where. This one seems undumped and that's a shame!  You play as an SD version of Medusa (Rider) from Fate, running around, swinging your chain at stuff, double jumping, and jumping off walls. Each level has its own gimmick and Fate boss fight at the end (I'm stuck on Gilgamesh.)  It does have lots of bullet hell bullets too, but most doujin games do regardless of genre.  The chain is used for just...

DanDeLion: Starchild Journey resembles a shmup but is in the Platine Dispositif genre i.e.  an unstable genre schism in spacetime that will always spit out something 100% unexpected.  This time it's a Mouse-controlled Witch Time Sling Shmup Racer.  It's 100% mouse controlled, one button stops time, then you circle bullets, making them stationary.  You highlight them with your mouse witchgirl cursor and then slingshot them. I won't split hairs - FMPSG05 is probably my favorite.  Not only does it have a metric fuckton of good tracks, 2 of them happen to be from a game called Mamono Hunter Mai, an amazing doujin game that I uploaded a few days ago.  You could say it was Fate. No....it was Valis. FMPSG vol.1 of 23 that I'll be uploading.  Very high quality VGM remix series from Japan.  Each track by a different composer (with some showing up on later volumes as well.)   It's called FMPSG, but it gets a lot more complicated than that as far as the instrumentation goes--every artist uses their own set up!  And wouldn't you know it--the liner notes are in this rip. Very good read if you nerd out on gear and it has the artist names. The main draw to this series for me was that the...

It's bad enough that nobody in the universe knows just how many games Platine Dispositif has made, we don't need precious official localizations of them disappearing. Engage To Jabberwock: Extended Edition is essentially a back-end repackaging of the original, despite what the title may imply. If you are unfamiliar with the original, this is an overhead run n' gun with shmup/stg enemy attacks. It takes place in one really huge Zelda-style dungeon, but with all the items and puzzles of a Zelda game crammed in to help with navigation and such. Along the way are some extremely intense boss fights.  Does this sound good?  Yeah? You're waiting for a catch... In...

English Or Die is a difficult high stakes quiz game like a Thinking Man's Smash TV. This was on the doujin freegame site Freem - but the owner deleted their account.  how weird is it?  Whatever requirements you may have will be 120% fulfilled by the title screen.  You can see the title screen in the preview, yes, but you don't know what song's playing.  The game itself had me dying of laughter several times. A game that blends elements from several overhead action games into one from Platine Dispositif, a doujin dev who has since gone pro. This is up to date with the latest patch.  On first glance, it looks like Kikikaikai, which it is modeled after to an extent, but with levels being a little more like Zelda overworld. On top of this, digging holes for your enemies ala Heiankyo Alien is a mechanic. And finally, everything explodes and causes chain reactions similar to Bomberman.  If you squint...
