King Crimson years 1981-84. Bearing a resemblance to New-Wave music, the reformed KC tightly reigned in improv and highlighted jaw-dropping technique of knowingly rhythmic, harmonically demanding workouts. Fripp wanted to create a Rock Gamelan with an interlocking rhythmic quality to the paired guitars that he found similar to Indonesian Gamelan ensembles.
