new airstrikes have hit the site of tuesday's chemical attack in syria. activists in the city say airstikes hit friday and today. at least one person was killed and 3 others are injured. it's not clear who conducted these airstrikes. we will continue to follow the situation out of syria this morning on kron four ( marty @ landing ) our top story this morning... three homes have been red tagged after sizable mudslide came rumbling down in the oakland hills. the slide also impacted an east-bay-mud service line. leaving more than 20 homes without water kron4's lydia pantazes shows us just how bad the damage is. (pkg)"it started coming down our yard really fast."a sea of mud filled this backyard on banning drive in the oakland hills... forcing people like barbara stone to get out."you

have to evacuate immediately, just get some stuff and really quickly have to be out."other people we spoke to weren't home when the mud came crashing down...but saw the aftermath."i was taken aback when i walked up the stairs and my worst fears were realized, i knew that this was the home that had been ransacked by the mud. it's cognitive distance, who wants to see a pool of mud in their home."the landslide occurred at about 6pm thursday night.... mud reached between 4 and five feet against the back walls of at least two homes on banning...portions of aitken drive above banning also severely damaged and too hazardous to use."watch your step."but just 3 houses down

from the damage...."there's nothing visible."glenn arriola house untouched by the mudslide.but he knows anything could happen especially with more rain on the way and he's has a plan... just in case. "we're going to get the heck out of town.."his family is all packed up....ready to go at moments notice."just in case any emergency crews say that we can't stay here we have a plan to be out of town and not be around, other than that, i think we'll be fine." ( marty@ landing) crews in the east bay worked to remove a tree that fell on a fast food restaurant in newark. thursday night's powerful winds forced this tree to crash onto the k-f-c on thornton avenue. the fallen tree caused some serious damage to the restaurant. the large trunk was suspended in air - and the rest caving in the roof. the fast food restaurant was red tagged. there is no word on when it will re-open. ( marty @ landing ) when it comes to storm damage, the north bay has seen more than its fair share of it over the last few months. kron4's charles clifford has a closer look at what people are doing to prevent flooding in their homes.

natsfriday afternoon, rain returned to the north bay and with it came the usual problems of wet roads and downed trees.natsin larkspur, a pg and e crew worked to restore power after a fallen tree took out lines along estelle avenue.natsa few miles away in san anselmo, the creek was running high friday afternoon but nowhere near flood stage. along san anselmo avenue a dumster full of sandbags sits on standby for anyone who might need them. tree branches and leaves litter the sidewalks, leftovers from the strong winds and rain the night before.sot

( marty ) the california drought emergency is over. all because of one of the wettest winters in years. governor brown announced the end of the drought- emergency following the state's driest five- year period on record. massive storm systems that dumped rain on the bay area dropped a record snowpack on the sierra, filled reservoirs, ane replenished a key water source. water officials say the drought did have at least one positive outcome. it led to the state's first water conservation rules focusing on turning off sprinklers and removing thirsty lawns in favor of more drought resistant greenery. and californians became more aware of the importance of conservation. ( marty ) another big story we are following this moring... swedish police arrested a man they believe drove a truck over pedestrians on a crowded street in stockholm. killing least four people and injuring a dozen more in the attack. officials are calling the incident a terror attack. and now officials say they found undetonated explosives inside the truck the man stole in the attack. police say there may be more arrests to come. ( marty ) breaking news... a tree has fallen on highway 13 in oakland. take a look at this picture c-h-p oakland tweeted this morning. this is on southbound highway 13 near thornhill. they say this is weather related and there was a traffic collision. kron four's averi harper is headed to the scene and will have a live report as soon as she arrives. next week. wednesday of next week. ( marty ) the search continues for a missing san jose state university student. 23-year-old kevin redrico was last seen near the benicia bridge thursday morning.

he left his home in vallejo that morning and was last seen getting out of his 20-14 red honda accord in benicia. after his car was found near the bridge, police launched a search by helicopter and boat. volunteers have been searching the area on foot ever since. redrico was wearing black clothing when he left home. ( marty ) the f-b-i is now involved in the search for a missing college student from northern california. the family of aly yeoman still believes she is alive.. the 20-year old went missing in yuba city, north of sacramento last thursday. yesterday, her family had a message to those who might be holding her to bring her home.. aly's truck was found near a levee the night she went missing. investigators later found her cel phone and one set of footprints leading away from the vehicle.

sheriff kory honea - we absolutely remain hopeful that we're going to find aly and bring her home safely>( marty ) yeoman's mom said she received texts with demands from aly's kidnappers. the f-b-i is offering a 5-thousand dollar reward for information leading to her recovery. ( marty ) the man who police say shot and killed a woman while she sat in a car with her two young sons in richmond is being charged with murder. the judge set bail for lawyer mcbride at three-point-one million dollars. he is alleged to have shot his ex -girlfriend, rashanda franklin, after the two had an altercation. police say franklin's two boys under the age of ten were in the car with their mother when mcbride fired the fatal shots. 43-year-old mcbride is scheduled to appear in contra costa county superior court in richmond on monday. ( marty ) police found a dismembered body in a san bruno home. investigators have not identified the body, but police have arrested a man for murder... the house is just down the street from where police are searching for

a missing man. they say it appears the two cases are connected. kron four's dan kerman explains. it's here at this home in san bruno home where police found a dismembered body thursday some of it inside and some in the backyard. the man who lives here david stubblefield has now been arrested on a variety of charges including murder. sotit is so shocking neighbors say in the last few weeks the suspect put up a blue tarp in front of the car part, but they couldn't explain why now they are confronted with what's happened to their once peaceful neighborhoodsot loida magat/suspect's neighbor 28-38 no fear whatsoever, but now we are afraid of what's going on. police initially made contact with stubblefield as part of a missing persons investigation. neighbors say the man who lives down the street in this home has not been seen for several weeks but they have seen stubblefield outside the home, and driving the missing man's truck sot jose

many are still dealing with the aftermath of heavy rain that caused coyote creek to flood the area back in february. it caused damage to hundreds of peoples homes, forcing them to head to shelters. kron four's hermela aregawi spoke to people in san jose about how they are feeling with more rain falling in the south bay. more than a month after the massive floods..residents in the williams street area are still on edge.not knowing which upcoming round of rain will flood their streets and homes again.sot kari davisson, affected by floodsanxious pretty anxious. we had enough, we keep in touch with websites and i work for the city so i had enough information knowing that hey we should be watching this so it was anxious thing and i left work early to secure the house and seeing the streets all jammed up with people either trying to get out or get in to sandbag, it made me even more anxious. on february 21st.. about 600 homes were damaged and 14,000 people evacuated.many still recovering from the massive floods.kari davisson says she has flood insurance..but still does what she can to protect her home.sot kari davisson,

affected by floodsthat was a holiday weekend and i spent monday with my neighbor in a raincoat and a rake and we were raking out the drains not even knowing how bad it was going to be so yeah ill continue to do that, most definitely.the massive rains left behind 100 million dollars in damages.sot jeff wheeler, affected by floodsthe couple that were down the street. they pretty much just had to clear everything out of their yards. i think a little bit of damage on their basement and that was it. some of the people that were down further towards williams, park or williams street. they were. they're out. their houses are having to be rebuilt.standupdozens of san jose residents are still in shelters after losing everything in the last flood. city officials say they hope to clear those shelters by mid month.reporting in san jose hermela aregawi kron 4 news. ( marty ) in the east bay. strong winds knocked down a 40-year-old tree in san lorenzo... a few powerlines hit the ground as well. the homeowner

believes the tree collapsed sometime friday morning. a neighbor woke up the homeowner letting him know what happened. the tree falling is something the homeowner thought might be a possibility at some point, because it was sick and dying for some time. ( marty ) no one was injured when the tree and power lines came down. the alameda county fire department showed up and put markers on the power lines to warn the public. and soon after, the lines were de-energized. ( marty ) this stormy weather has caused damage all around the bay area. but the damage was not limited to just land several high priced boats in town for a big boat show, were damaged during the gale force winds in richmond. kron four's jeff bush shows us the damage investigates whether the show will go on. this is not what you want to see if you are the owner of a fancy sailboatwinds topping

50 miles an hour with five foot swells smashing the boats against the docks and against each other. the boats are in town for the pacific sail and power boat showwhich is scheduled for this weekend. boat designers from all around the world came here to show off their latest models for the show. as you can imagine, when the weather came in, it made a lot of people nervous. ian van tuylboat owner boats crashing into each other and into the docksa person could easily get hurt or even killedfortunatly, nobody got hurt but there was noticable damage to several boats and the temporary docks that were brought in for the show. ian on friday, things were getting back to normalboat owners a little shaken but ready to show off their craft.deedee taftpacific sail and power boat show

ad starring kendall jenner was quickly pulled after some people thought it made light of social justice issues. and now, the san francisco police department is blasting pepsi for the ad... the ad is the subject of legal threats from the s-f-p-d for using the city's shield. in the commercial, police officers stand among a protesters. kendall hands the can of pepsi to an officer. the city's attorney is demanding pepsi not run any footage or photos referencing the department, adding it will explore all legal options if pepsi does not comply. he says quote: "there is nothing san franciscan about pepsi's ham-handed attempt here to fatten its own bottom line." ( marty ) happening now. marine mammal experts are keeping a close eye on the coast near big sur for a whale. it is entangled in some sort of metal frame. it was last seen in southern california and was headed toward monterey. volunteers are lining the beaches and spots with good vantage points to try to find the whale. however the

judge neil gorsuch to take a seat on the u-s supreme court. the vote came friday after a political showdown and a controversial rule change that could alter the was the senate will review future nominees.

the gorsuch nomination was fought by democrats who voted to fillibuster a vote on the gorsuch nomination earlier this week. the senate then changed the rules, utilizing the so-called "nuclear option." the vote brings concern that without incentive to reach out to the minority party, future nominees will be less moderate and more ideological. judge gorsuch is expected to vote most often with the court's conservative justices -- restoring the majority that was at stake, after antonin scalia's death.

( marty @ bam ) new information on the u-s targeting of an airfield in syria. there is word this morning that the u-s is investigating whether russia may have been directly involved in tuesday's chemical gas attack that killed as many as a hundred people. kron four's catherine heenan has the reaction to america's first direct attack on the government of bashir-al-assad. nat cryingthe president said targeting babies was over the line ... nat72 hours later, wave after wave of cruise missiles roared up from the decks of two destroyers in the eastern mediterranean.natthe pentagon released flight tracking data indications the attack on khan shaykoon originated at the airfield. syria's government accused the u=s of backing terrorism. this condemnable u.s. aggression confirms the continuation of the flawed u.s. strategy. it makes the u.s. a partner of islamic state, and nusra, and other

strike in syria. the group gathered friday at market and powell. the protestors say the attack was not approved by congress and the u-s should not involve itself in another war. and many demonstrators say they do not believe the strike was a direct response to this week's chemical attack by the syrian regime. they say instead they want to see the millions of dollars in defense funding spent on social programs at home. ( marty ) a cleanup effort is underway in san francisco bay after a barge carrying thousands of gallons of diesel fuel capsizes in the bay. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. a boom was placed around the area where the 115- foot vessel went down just after early friday morning. it is believed that thursday night's gale force winds and choppy seas swamped the barge. the tanks on board can carry 4- thousand gallons of fuel. several hundred gallons of hydraulic oil was also onboard. but no crew members were on board when the barge more showers for our saturday

is underway in san francisco bay after a barge carrying thousands of gallons of diesel fuel capsizes in the bay. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. a boom was placed around the area where the 115- foot vessel went down just after early friday morning. it is believed that thursday night's gale force winds and choppy seas swamped the barge. the tanks on board can carry 4- thousand gallons of fuel. several hundred gallons of hydraulic oil was also onboard. but no crew members were on board when the barge capsized. more showers for our saturday coupled with some modest sun.

a missing san jose state university student. 23-year-old kevin redrico was last seen near the benicia bridge thursday morning. he left his home in vallejo that morning and was last seen getting out of his 20-14 red honda accord in benicia. after his car was found near the bridge, police launched a search by helicopter and boat. volunteers have been searching the area on foot ever since. redrico was wearing black clothing when he left home. ( marty ) the f-b-i is now involved in the search for a missing college student from northern california. the family of aly yeoman still believes she is alive.. the 20-year old went missing in yuba city, north of sacramento last thursday. yesterday, her family had a message to those who might be holding her to bring her home.. aly's truck was found near a levee the night

43-year-old mcbride is scheduled to appear in contra costa county superior court in richmond on monday. ( marty ) in the east bay. strong winds knocked down a 40-year-old tree in san lorenzo... a few powerlines hit the ground as well. the homeowner believes the tree collapsed sometime friday morning. a neighbor woke up the homeowner letting him know what happened. the tree falling is something the homeowner thought might be a possibility at some point, because it was sick and dying for some time.
