In 1992, Amnesty International produced a disjointed, bizarre TV special with the theme of human rights, and specifically, against the torture of women. Serious speeches were bookended by comedic performances, and a couple of musical performances.
The special aired on April 14, 1992 on Lifetime TV, hosted by Roseanne and Tom Arnold. It's a cringe-fest from start to finish. Other stars include Vanessa Williams, the Indigo Girls and David Crosby, Sinbad, Richard Gere, Katey Sagal, and Lily Tomlin.
This is recorded from a VHS tape, which has most of the special intact. It's unclear if additional segments with Robin Williams and Howie Mandel ever aired.
