Conflict is a 1945 American black-and-white suspense FILM NOlR made by Warner Brothers. It was directed by Curtis Bernhardt, produced by William Jacobs from a screenplay by Arthur T. Horman and Dwight Taylor, based on the story The Pentacle by Alfred Neumann and Robert Siodmak. It starred Humphrey Bogart, Alexis Smith, and Sydney Greenstreet. The film is the only pairing of Bogart and Greenstreet of the five in which they acted together where Bogart rather than Greenstreet is the villain or corrupt character.
A straying husband is sure he murdered his wife, then starts seeing things and questions his own sanity. The thin plot prevents this from being top-flight, but it's still well done in an unassuming way. Reliable Bogart, good Smith and Greenstreet

Well written , extremely well acted , well directed and its a pretty decent copy too. What more could you ask for. No spoilers from me but this is a suspenseful film. Yes, even if you know what's coming it still will keep you watching.
If you need anymore convincing, just think Bogart/Greenstreet. Nuff said.
As an aside, I love these old 30's/40's movies. The fashions, the cars, the buildings ..... I soak them in like sunshine on a beach. Yes, even the overwrought style of acting that was so popular back then. lol.
5 stars only because I can't give it 6
