Original installer of the German version of Half-Life: Uplink, a free demo for Half-Life including the tutorial of the full game and an original mission exclusive to the demo.
The German edition includes localised text and voice acting, and notably also reflects the changes made to the game for its German retail release. Among the elements that have been censored are:
There is no blood.
The military "grunt" enemies have been replaced with robots, including robotic-sounding voices, that drop oil and gears instead of blood and guts.
Scientists and guards don't die when they are attacked, but sit down on the floor.
Bodies that are bludgeoned or blown up don't explode into gibs, but fade and disappear.
The demo has been tested to install and run fine on a Windows 10 system (version 2004) running on an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with an AMD Radeon RX 590 video card. The OpenGL renderer seems to be the most compatible. It can be selected in the game's main menu under "Konfiguration" before starting the mission.
