The Trash Poets hail from the Western PA and Eastern Ohio area. Having been brought up in a melting pot of musical styles, it was only natural that the guys would record an album that showcased not only rock and roll, but also blues, alternative, and heavy metal sounds.
The group has been together for over three years and shows no signs of letting up. From modest beginnings (three people came to their first live show) to the packed houses they are playing today, it is no wonder the Trash Poets are not about to quit. They have learned that through hard work and dedication you can achieve anything. Their influences range from Led Zeppelin and Brian Setzer to Iron Maiden, Live, Ted Nugent, and B.B. King (quite an odd grouping of musicians!) But that is what gives the Trash Poets their unique sound and flavor.
These guys like to have fun, party, play their music in front of a lot of people, and then wake up the next day and do it all over again (not a bad way to live, eh?). The Poets have many different musical tastes and this is evidenced on their first album TargetEarth. From the poppy dance tune "What Would It Take" and the dark and gritty "Waste." Straight through to the hard rocking "Rattlesnake Kiss" and "Rockethead," TargetEarth takes you from point A to point B and makes every stop in between.
