Sound UAV's, self, organized, in space, FUNCTION X including, in formation, a concert extraordinaire. The Dresden IDM scene gives a shout. Anaxy, lately to be heard at »Sleepy City«, checks in with faster and harder songs. The tempo is raising. "The Future" is always now. All tracks were mastered by Stefan Senf a.k.a Noize Creator. Simultaneously with this release we fill the gap in the phonocake catalogue when finally bringing the number 68 to life: relaxed downbeat techno by RYDOX...

On the album release debut by Aderacid from France we can find highly passionate analogue electronica, with decent psy effects and subtle microscopic samples, a unique mixture of styles and references, something inbetween warehouse, sunrise on a field and Sunday at home. www.phonocake.org

i know exactly where the sour grapes hang: Listening to the song, you get a feeling of freedom, laced with melancholy. The choice of the instruments and effects creates a solemn atmosphere, leaving room for your thoughts to wander and ruminate. groond: Personally, I have the feeling that I am on an abandoned space station taken from a 1950s movie when listening to that song, and I can't help but suspect that somebody else is there too. The suspense in this song is almost eerie, or at least...

Phonocake release #18 features three new tracks by Al Magnifico, all three being fundamentally different from each other, and different from a lot of other things too. "Jetharp" - Most everything is unusual about this track: the choice of the instruments and effects, the arrangement, the progression. Without any problems, Al Magnifico provides ample scope for what we call "electronic music", elegantly bridges the gap between different musical genres and has quite possibly...

Up to now, dancefloor tracks have not really been represented on Phonocake. Those days are over now, though, because Alec Troniq is helping us out there with the latest release: three tracks with a total length of roughly 26 minutes and from a genre that lets quite a few electronica lovers furrow their brows. But no reason to worry: Alec Troniq holds up Phonocake's honor and the love for music, letting us hear uncompromising, but somehow tasty dancefloor, which, by the way, works wonderfully as...

A calm, relaxed atmosphere develops over roughly ten minutes; different rhythmic elements and structures expand and complete, but never destroy it.

With his minimal-electroid-ambientesque 'Turning Fog' ep, Anaxy takes us to the deep inner things structures and shadows of all the things surrounding us. Anaxy shows us what is going on right there. Its a clear and moving picture, hard and soft at the same time, quiet and loud at once, not too fast, but still moving along at a pleasant pace. It's an Optimized Clockwork analysis, while the moods in the cabin are translated to melodic lines. And so we can see: The world of the...

Forget about the statusupdates sending thirsty indoor plant, the next infusion of discrete, believable, trancecendental nectar of progress is approaching now, a serum full of warmth, techno soul, deep physical infinity, out of the deep-sea trenches in the machine park, for the sphere, for the drift. An autumnal announcement in minimal language is approching, as a start of another local newcomer project of the next generation of passion, a cultivated monotonous, pleasant flow, beyond from...

This slow and irregular hip (or trip?) hop beat upon which the listener will automatically lapse into a rhythmic bounce is combined and documented with an either electrifying or electrocuting foreground, depending on your particular point of view. Rhythmic, groovy, slightly deranged, and it's somehow cool too.

"Requiemdata The current release from Aries Fiktion takes its time - a lot of time - as it develops and grows, yet the listener's patience is never tested. After a pensive intro, the unusual presence of classical instruments builds up a solemn atmosphere; the suggestion of choral voices adds to the reverential mood. The theme is picked up and altered throughout the song, leaving the listener overwhelmed. But, imperceptibly, the atmosphere of heaviness dissolves, into an invigorating,...

The EP Fractured Mutants is a collaboration by Atl. and the visual artist Bob Clapés in BCN. Each track features a corresponding visual artwork. After seeing one artwork Atl. started to imagine and producing one track, raw cerebellum. Having those prefs saved he made other tracks. The tracks are musical reactions to certain visual artworks, being a homage to the visual artist Bob Clapés. You can read more about the process in the artist interview at http://phonocake.org/Atl. ...

With the album by Nico Steckhan we commit uncharted territory. His album meets at the crossroads of kicking electronics, pop, indie, songs and IDM. No genre-problem for Phonocake, above all it's the idea to present new musicians. We call it intelligent pop music .. IPM. : ) The idea for the album title derived from a koan (a zen riddle) : www.awaresilence.com/Zen_Koan/Mumonkan_Wu-Men_Kuan/12._Zuigan_Calls_Himself_Master.html more information (www.phonocake.org) Further Links: Audiophil Website...
