Noir at its best!
Hostage taking, woman on the run,”homme fatale” - what more could Noire fan ask for. A thriller from start to finish. I was always enamored with Ida Luppino as a child watching the TV show she and Howard Duff put together. She was an amazing actress, producer and director. Films like this will allow her to live forever.

Lupino certainly was in hiding. Over the top and especially the Hollywood ending.

Highly suspenseful thriller.
A twisty plot, fine acting and direction and some very good camera work make this movie well worth watching. The slightly built Lupino telegraphs vulnerability; her struggle on the stairs with the menacing McNally is genuinely frightening. A few elements of the story line seem a little contrived but don't seriously detract from the film.
