Music From The Film - Gary Young and Arthur Harrison have been basking in obscurity together for over 22 years. In the late 1980s and through the '90s they released several cassette tapes in extremely short runs under the moniker Bone Bunny, and with others in the acts New Killers On The Block and Entfred. Gary also worked with the Washington DC band Drooling Zoomers and Arthur with the bands Jobs For America and Stolen Government Binder Clip. Music From The Film emerged in 2007, representing a...

CD-R is the noisey future of russian youth. With their ep "Concentration" the listener is submerged in a nocturnal corridor of machine hum with the only respite being a blast of radio static and lofi noise played at over saturated levels. Then CD-R goes beneath audible levels to further destroy your subconscious mind. A pleasant operation is guaranteed. "Project CD-R started in December 2002(Moscow) by Nikita Golyshev and Stas Bobkin. Acid Police Noise Ensemble is a collective of composers, artists, and performers based in The Hague, Netherlands. Their activities come from a mix of composition, performance art and improvisation, and involve an exploration of "noise" with all of the vague, multi-faceted beauty that it implies. They have been active since 2010 and perform their increasingly theatrical and ambitious projects throughout the Netherlands. These have included their hour-long, "One-Act Aktionist...

Six Girls was originally released in 1988 by Watergate Tapes as a 60 minute cassette. It was re-released as a CDR by Staalplaat's Bake Records imprint in 2000. It was remastered from a third generation tape copy, thus restoring the intended poor quality of this recording. Things that appear to be loops, but not quite, are actually tracks composed of infinite micro changes in tempo and timbre.

Safe is a new collaboration between Tyler Higgins and Dave Vosh. Using electronics, acoustic instruments, and modular synthesizer, they build slowly evolving complex layers of sound. Dave Vosh has been experimenting with electronic music since the early 70's, releasing a few collaborations in the tape underground. This project with Tyler is among the first things he's done since escaping the basement last year. Tyler Higgins has been active as an improviser in DC/Baltimore scenes for several...

BLUE SAUSAGE INFANT is the work of Chester Hawkins of Washington DC. Since 1986, BSI has produced music that combines aspects of noise, drone, Krautrock, sample-plundering, dark ambient, and kosmische electronica to produce a multi-layered feast for the brain. Hawkins describes his music as "mean-spirited euphoria," a complex breed of long-form psychedelia with a hint of paranoia to augment the bliss... This legendary concert collaboration between two of Washington DC's infamous experimental projects was never properly released, although a few cassette copies did circulate across the globe, it is being presented here for the first time in its entirety. Recorded live on April 1 (Fool's Day) 1987 at Enmarge, in Adams Morgan, Washington DC. Whacked out electronic rhythms, turntable abuse, hawaiian guitar, freaked out science teacher vocals, and acid electronics. Its a long download but worth the...

V.'s attempt to record an album of unlistenable music, that somehow ended up being, well, the opposite. Still filled with moments at their attempt to play something like rock with drums and guitar but they are way off the mark. Spastic improv falls into ambient abstractive beauty.

Cezary Gapik (also know as CEZAR) was born in Czestochowa, Poland in 1963. He started his musical activity in 1980 as an animator of punk rock bands. Soon enough he discovered new sounds which were brought by the punk rock rebellion. Cabaret Voltaire, Public Image Ltd. or other ânew waveâ bands had an enormous influence on the perception of music by Cezar. Plunging into the fundaments of musical avant-garde (Karlheinz Stockhausen, Morton Feldman, Luc Ferrari, La Monte Young), the appearance...

One of the most popular albums by V. covers a wide terrritory of sounds and styles from ambient glitch, free improv noise, and ambient field recordings. Using a wide array of instruments from hurdy gurdy, drums, samplers, tape, and found objects, v. creates a potent mix. This release was originally made for the Black Orchid label as cassette release. However 2 CDR editions were released by Zeromoon, the first 20 in a deluxe canvas and wooden cover, the second 100 copies in the standard Zeromoon...

Violet Shifts - Resita Mold A collaboration by Jeff Surak and Frans De Waard resulted in this exercise for acoustic drones using autoharp and guitar. A clear ringing sound with pulses and humming. Hypnotic. This includes a bonus track not available on the original 20 3" release.

Not One Nor presents two works made of discrete events foregrounding the materiality of a large string instrument in its role as a resonating chamber. Both pieces are constructed out of a limited number of gestures and/or pitches and points on the instrumentâs geography with the intention of producing an immersion in sound as material, interspersed with contrasting pauses. Not One Nor for prepared double bass calls for shifting variations in timbre through the use of three gestures...

Prague based duo Radio Royal uses all the kinds of waste sound (audio feedback, hiss, hum, scratched vinyls) and found audio (old cassetes, magnetic tape and vinyls) and turns them into the specific mixture of noise and easy listening. Quite contemporary sound is all created by digging into old media and using some old fashion equipment like tape echos and cheap reverb. Phaerentz - turntables, language repeater, Kaoss pad, Parrot machine Federsel - no input mixing board, language repeater,...
