The Prowler is a 1951 American film noir thriller film directed by Joseph Losey that stars Van Heflin and Evelyn Keyes. The film was produced by Sam Spiegel (as S.P. Eagle) and was written by Dalton Trumbo. Because Trumbo was blacklisted at the time, the screenplay was credited to his friend, screenwriter Hugo Butler, as a front. Robert, Nat, and Cody are joined by Patrick Ripoll of Tracks of the Damned to deal with those damned kids. Not the kind of kids that won’t stay off your lawn, but rather three films featuring specially powered creepy children that might be the future of the human race if they don’t end it first. That’s right, we’re talking about 1960’s VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED , its sequel CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED , and Joseph Losey and Hammer Films’ take on the idea, THESE ARE THE DAMNED aka THE DAMNED....

It's Episode 41 of In the Mood for Podcast, a British-based film podcast hosted by Calum Reed of Ultimate Addict and Pete Sheppard of In the Mood for Blog. The highlight of a quiet week at the cinema is Lee Daniels' "The Paperboy," but will he finally impress us "Precious" skeptics with his Florida-set thriller? We discuss the controversy of that jellyfish scene, as well as other films that kicked up a fuss, for one reason or another. The rest of the releases include showbiz...

This week we're splitting the American releases down the middle, with Cal opting for raucous Melissa McCarthy comedy "Tammy," and Pete settling down for moody thriller "Cold in July." Cal's fondness for musicals led him to colourful Aussie flick "Goddess," featuring the vocal talents of none other than Ronan Keating, while France is represented in our review of "Cycling with Moliere," which (spoiler!) has very little to do with actual cycling. Elsewhere,...

This week, we discuss the upcoming Oscars, casting our predictions for 20 of the 24 categories, and mulling over the scenarios that could befall presumed leaders âBirdmanâ and âBoyhood,â plus thereâs big news from Berlin, as Charlotte Rampling stakes a claim for a place at next yearâs Oscars. We get physical, as Pete was the podcast representative for Matthew Vaughnâs violent spy thriller âKingsman: The Secret Service,â while Sam Taylor-Johnsonâs hotly-anticipated âFifty Shades of...

In this Americanization of the 1931 German thriller, both the police and the criminal underworld stalk a mysterious killer who preys on small children. M is a 1951 American film noir directed by Joseph Losey. It is a remake of Fritz Lang's 1931 German film of the same name about a child murderer.
