Based deeply in jazz rhythms, the book is divided into four sections, each of which represents a different saxophone--soprano, tenor, alto and baritone--with the poems of each section using the voice of that instrument. Sixty-four poems evoke the familiar 64-bar song form common to many jazz tunes.
