Recorded between January and July 2016, You’re Here is the first full LP produced by Marco Cella and signed with his own name, following the conclusion of five-years project Noisekraft. Clocking at barely 40 minutes, the album floats between ambient, electroacoustic and classical compositions envisioned as a cohesive entity; glued together by the use of field recordings and sampling from the cult move “Cyrano de Bergerac”, the result is a mixture of soft electronic shades and organic...

Lichtung is a fifty minutes laid back microscope universe, visualizing this path. Please do not wonder, the release will be published as catalogue number 100, that was not set until now. Daniel Williams a.k.a. Ghost Radio dedicates his third album on Phonocake to the works of Claude Debussy, whose second name was Achille. The tracks show a variety of styles and merge into an album that you will want to listen to repeatedly. A masterpiece from the theater specialist composer. On his relationship with Debussy he says: "Debussy is the secret godfather of cinema and an artist of incomparable genius who realised that beauty could be subversive. He's always close at hand...

"Requiemdata The current release from Aries Fiktion takes its time - a lot of time - as it develops and grows, yet the listener's patience is never tested. After a pensive intro, the unusual presence of classical instruments builds up a solemn atmosphere; the suggestion of choral voices adds to the reverential mood. The theme is picked up and altered throughout the song, leaving the listener overwhelmed. But, imperceptibly, the atmosphere of heaviness dissolves, into an invigorating,...

Trans Alp is back with new influences. We witness his 2010er version of electronic Dub and diverse steps here. The EP goes a step further whilst the musician helps itself with a mixture of "sawtooth rag shredder" and fragile electronica aestetics at the same time. Unusually voluminous, yet clear and structured it delivers his own definition of the current 'hype machines', utilizing digital and analogue machines. Phonocake.org release site

The three tracks by Trans Alp are all characterized by a sinister atmosphere. However, alternating song structures and a wide palette of genres and elements make each of the tracks a very different experience. While "Geister" is marked by rather pensive melancholy, sugared by the guitar and the gentle melody, "Blub" lives from a dark. decisiveness, underlined and put into effect by a spheric bass and elektro reminiscences. The German vocals of "Die Gedanken sind...

No more fear" - Compared with Graf's earlier releases, there is an apparent mood change in this track: a dark determination, which probably doesn't remind just me of the heights of EBM. Powerful, almost whipping beats contribute to the mood; the use of the vocals underlines the atmosphere characterized by sadness and retribution. coraxx: A scale gone askew opens the track, industrial influences suggest a sense of heaviness which increasingly changes into a feeling of boundlessness, of taking off and flying away, if you let it. antis: It seems as if the track was slowly getting to know itself before its rather lean beat develops into a scorching (and quite demanding) climax. The ep starts dubby in the beginning, made after his first visit at audioLAB Dresden, where he came across. The track has recordings of a guest singer in it. Very smooth the ep continues to a more introverted but playful level and brings us to 2 pieces of SciFi-adventure-game-music, produced years ago for the game 'The Kore Gang'. 11 more of such tracks can be found on his CD on Bohnerwachs Tonträger. The wind is blowing from a very different direction with Phonocake's latest release: Disrupt transfers classic reggae music to contemporary media, thus producing reggae with the help of digital tools - laptop dub plates, so to speak. You could call the sounds developing from that mixture spherically electronic. Percussive mechanical sounds and drones form crater landscapes and the warm sounds and melodies from time to time are the meadow on the edge of the crater. So, Kraterwiese is the perfect soundtrack for your next mission to mars. The german title 'Kraterwiese' is a neologism, wich is made of the words "crater" an "meadow". This ambivalence is also reflected in Anaxy's music. Kraterwiese is the third release of Anaxy on Phonocake.

While the sea becomes an ocean we join forces with the russian hard n beat sound netlabel Cuntroll to bring our first joint netlabel release. We like the idea of joint releases, starting at the same time at parallel labels. BTW: congrats to your 50th release, Cuntroll and Mark. The release is jury selected music around the Metagalaxy festival 2011 in november last year.
